What a fantastic and busy term so far! 

A huge well done to all the children for a fantastic Christmas show! what stars they are! 

After Christmas all children will have a spelling test on Fridays, spellings to learn have been sent home in book bags.

neurod.jpg Class 1 celebrated Neurodiversity Week 2024. We looked at how our brains are all different and which celebrities have a dianosis along with their many strengths 

 

We hope you have a lovely half term and come back refreshed for the busy Spring term. We will be going on our class residential to Burwardsly!

We will be learning about

History and Geography: The Royal Family and monarchs

Literacy: non chronological reports on jungle animals from Grandad's Island

Maths: Fractions, shape, division and statistics

Music: African animals, call and response

Science: Plants

Art/D&T: Sketching, making vehicles

ICT: Using Powerpoint/Word documents

IMG_2763.jpeg We had an exciting visitor in Class 1 this week, Chocolate the baby lamb came to visit and Evie taught us all about how to care for sheep and lambs in Spring.🐑

Geography- The UK and capital cities.

Music- Pitch and Pulse

Maths- Multiplication and division

Literacy- Grandad's Island , a return narrative.

ICT- Information Technology and the Internet

Science- Materials

Art- Mark making and skills

Spellings for Year 1 and Year 2 are now in the file below. Spelling tests will be on a Monday am.

Class One have had a greatfirst half term, we have focused on addition and number bonds using numicon.

This Year the week will look like:

Tuesday- Friday Teacher, Ms Pickering,

                TA- Mrs K Walker

Friday AM- Mr Hudson for PE

Spelling tests will be on a Monday am, YEAR 2 ONLY UNTIL HALF TERM

This term we will be learning about Duddon in the past and comparing with the modern day.

I would love for any grandparents or parents to come visit and show/talk about any childhood memories they might have.
