Writing Competition
Date: 30th Oct 2016 @ 3:29pm
During the school's recent Book Week, all the children in school tookpart in a Writing Competition. Each child was asked to write a postcard, about a real or an imaginary holiday; these were completed in school. This was part of a Literacy Team initiative to raise the profile of writing in school, and to get children interested in their own creative writing. Two governors, Mrs Gregory and Mrs Greaves, were asked to take on the difficult task of judging the entries, which they enthusiastically agreed to.
On Friday, during the end of term awards assembly, the winners were announced, and our two judges, as well as Chris Lightfoot, our Chair of Governors, came along to hand out the prizes. These were given to a winner in each year group, and a runner-up in each year group. There were fantastic entries, and some of these will be displayed in school for everyone to see. The winners were awarded a beautiful copy of the new anniversary edition of Winnie the Pooh stories. Well done to all of them, and thank you to our judges for completing a very challenging task!
