week ending 3/3/17

Wow! We have done such a lot this week! We have started our new topic of The Gingerbread Man. We have read the story and used puppets to re-tell the story - remembering to use all the special story book language. Reception children have written sentences and sequenced the story and Nursery have mark made and read back their stories. We are starting to create the little old lady's house outside.

We have set up and played in our sweet shop role play area. We are doing lots of counting - making sure that we give our customers the right number of sweets and that they give the shopkeeper the right amount of money! Reception have made some posters for the walls and we all made salt dough chocolates to sell next week. We put different smells in the salt dough and talked about what foods they reminded us of.

On Tuesday it was Shrove Tuesday and we made pancakes and learnt about why we have them. On Ash Wednesday we went to church with Adam and learnt all about it.
