Class 2 World Book Day Celebrations

The children and teachers had a fabulous time celebrating World Book Day. It was certainly worth waiting for!
The classroom had been transformed into a Reading Cafe first thing this morning. The children enjoyed exploring snippets of new books, looking at quotes and pictures from stories and noting any texts that they would want to read in the future. Then we had a book quiz, including masked reader videos and maths problems linking to well known stories, in addition to the classic book related questions. We were really impressed with their knowledge and their enthusiasm.
After lunch, we made our favourite book characters from paper towel rolls. There were lots of Paddington Bears, Captain Underpants, The witch from Room on a Broom, Zog, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, just to name a few.
