We are required to publish online information about how we have used the Pupil Premium.  The funding received from Pupil Premium is allocated in the following ways:

Supporting learning through programmes delivered to individual or small groups for those children who need a boost to their learning in order to reach their potential, or who require 'gaps' to be closed in their learning. For example: small group reading, writing or mathematics tuition.

  • Providing specialised resources for individuals and groups of pupils as recommended by specific agencies.

  • Supporting the cost of before/after school care & activities.

  • Supporting the cost of school trips and visits.

  • Assisting with uniform costs or other school materials.

  • Supporting children's learning in the classroom by ensuring that staff/pupil ratios are as high as possible.

  • Ensuring that children have their needs clearly identified and their progress closely monitored through the school.

The school aims to make sure that appropriate provision is made for Pupil Premium pupils to:

  • raise attainment and close the gap between them and their peers.

  • achieve at age related expectations in Core Subjects.

  • ensure good progress in reading, writing and maths is made over the year.

Through interventions, staff work to break down barriers to learning and progress. Pupil Premium is used to provide high quality support for children for individual pupils or small groups of pupils, suited to their needs. This additional support  may be carried out by teachers or teaching assistants.
